J. EDGAR

Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar" studies the life story of the famed FBI director through the pen of the writer, Dustin Lance Black, and with a stunning portrayal by the actor/movie star/modelizer we all know and love as Leonardo DiCaprio.

Pretty much everything that could possibly be written about this film has been written already but fuck it: I enjoyed "J. Edgar" but it got a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is bullshit. I think it got like 41%. Meanwhile "Harold and Kumar's Christmas Masturbation Fest" or whatever it's called got like 75%. Just ignore that. If you have two brain cells to rub together and if you're a history buff you'll think "J. Edgar" is the shit. Or, just watch it to see Leonardo DiCaprio roll out his usual thespian mastery. Dude is going so hard for legend status but he's got the goods, fo sho', so he deserves the tries. Especially for certain scenes in this film that would have been straight up laughable if they hadn't been in the care of such a wonderful actor. Albeit, if Scorsese had directed this pic it would have been PERFECT. But, considering that Eastwood's last flick ("Hereafter") made me think that Clint was either going senile or didn't give a fuck anymore, this is one hell of a comeback. And, quite frankly, the thought of a septuagenarian with comebacks still in him is hot as fuck!

But that being said, Genre gives "J. Edgar" 3.8 out of 5 points.
